BNS: LITHUANIA RANKS 31ST GLOBALLY IN TERMS OF IT COMPETITIVENESS - ECONOMIST INTELIGENCE UNIT

VILNIUS, Sept 21, BNS - Lithuania has climbed four places in the rankingof IT sector competitiveness and now lie 31st among 66 countries, the listing compiled by the Economist Intelligence Unit, the research and consulting unit of the UK's business magazine The Economist, has shown.

 Estonia ranks 23rd (up from 24th place in 2008) and Latvia is the 33rd (34th in 2008).The US have remained at the top spot again in this year's ranking. Finland jumped to the second place, from 13th last year, while Taiwan, last year's number two, plunged to the 15th position. Sweden ranks the 3rd in this year's listing, up from 4th place last year.
