BNS: Lithuania to bring up its energy security, Georgia's territorial integrity in European Council session

VILNIUS, Oct 08, BNS - Lithuania will draw attention to its energy security situation and aim to vouchsafe European Union (EU) support to Georgia's territorial integrity in the European Council session due next week.


The Cabinet approved in a session on Wednesday Lithuania's position to aim for the Council's conclusions to reflect particular risks to energy security for both Lithuania and the entire Baltic Sea region and solid and unconditional support to Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus and Prime Minister Gediminas Kirkilas will partake in the European Council session due in Brussels Oct. 15-16 on behalf of Lithuania.
