BNS: LITHUANIA'S GOVT SHOULD SUCCEED IN PLACING EUR 1 B EUROBOND ISSUE - ANALIST

VILNIUS, Sept 29, BNS - Lithuania's government should succeed in placing 1 billions euros (LTL 3.45 b) worth issue of Eurobonds on the international markets this year, and the borrowing costs could be better compared with the Eurobond issue distributed in June, Gitanas Nauseda, an adviser to SEB bank president, projects.

The issue should be definitely placed in full. The question is the price. Even now I hope that it will be more attractive compared with the price we paid for the first Eurobond issue. Despite Moody's decision [to downgrade Lithuania's ratings] there have been quite a few positive changes in recent months, which should contribute to an improvement in that price and to the strengthening of confidence in our state," he told the reporters on Tuesday.

According to his projections, the issue could be placed at the end of this month or early in October. In June Lithuania borrowed 0.5 billion euros under the interest of 9.375 percent on foreign markets. Those bonds will mature in 2014.
