BNS: LITHUANIA'S SICOR BIOTECH BOOSTS TURNOVER BY 49 PCT IN H1

VILNIUS, Jul 29, BNS - Lithuania's biopharmaceutical manufacturer SicorBiotech, which is part of the international pharmaceutical corporation Teva, recorded 52.67 million litas (EUR 15.26 mln) in turnover in the first halfof this year, up 49 percent year-on-year.

The company attributed the increase to the sales of anticancer medicine TevaGrastim in the European Union (EU). Exports account for about 70 percent of the company's turnover. In 2008 the turnover of Sicor Biotech totaled 83.1 million litas, up almost 35 percent from the year-earlier figure of 61.7 million litas.The company aims to expand its production facilities during two years and invest almost 20 million litas, including the EU support, into the respective project.
