EUROPEAN COMMISSION ON LITHUANIA'S ECONOMY: STRONG RECOVERY AS DOMESTIC DEMAND PICKS UP

Lithuania's economy has quickly recovered from a deep recession. Following a contraction of nearly 15% in 2009, output expanded by 1.3% in 2010, reflecting a particularly strong fourth quarter (4.6% y-o-y growth). GDP of Lithuania is projected to grow by around 5% this year and by 4,7% in 2012 (biggest growth rate in the EU). Check the Spring forecast 2011-12 by the European Commission.
