GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT DECREASED BY 15 PCT IN 2009, GREW 0.1 PCT IN Q4 VS Q3

Statistics Lithuania informs that gross domestic product (GDP), estimated on the basis of available statistical data and econometric models, in 2009 made LTL 92450.2 million at current prices and, against 2008, dropped by 15.0 per cent (the changes have been estimated using a chain-linked volume of the value added).

In the fourth quarter year-on-year, the country's GDP shrank   by 13 percent to 23.898 billion litas. On a quarterly basis, the economy grew by 0.1 percent in the fourth quarter from the third quarter.
