IN I QUARTER 2011, GDP OF LITHUANIA INCREASED BY 6,9 %

Statistics Lithuania informs that GDP, estimated based on available statistical data and econometric models, in I quarter 2011 amounted to LTL 23121 million at current prices and, compared to I quarter 2010, increased by 6.9 per cent. More information at http://www.stat.gov.lt/en/news/view?id=9887

In I quarter 2011, against the same period in 2010, positive changes in gross value added in all groups of economic activities have been observed. A considerable GDP growth in I quarter has been determined by a low base effect: in I quarter 2010, gross value added was still decreasing in almost all groups of activities, except for industry.
