Lithuanian president to attend EU summit with Obama

VILNIUS, Mar 30, BNS - Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus is going to Prague this coming weekend to attend the first meeting of heads of European Union (EU) countries with US President Barack Obama. The President's Office told BNS that the agenda of the summit was yet to be specified.


Adamkus will fly to Prague, the capital of the current EU presidency the Czech Republic, on Saturday from the anniversary meeting of senior officials of NATO member-states starting in Strasbourg and Kehl on Friday.

During his first trip to Europe, Obama, who was sworn in as the United States president in January, will attend a meeting of the G20 (the world's 19 largest national economies and the EU) and will later proceed to the NATO summit before meeting with EU leaders at the end of his journey
