LITHUANIAN PRIME MINISTER CONGRATULATES EUROPEAN COMMISSION PRESIDENT

Lithuanian Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius congratulates European Commission President José Manuel Barroso on the final approval by the European Parliament of the composition of the new European Commission. “I am confident that with your energy and determination, and with the support of your excellent team of top-class Europeans, you will continue to consolidate the European Union for the benefit of its citizens and will strive for competitiveness, innovation, sustainability, safety and comfort in Europe”, says the Prime Minister in his letter to the European Commission President.

The Prime Minister also expresses his genuine appreciation of friendly relations and successful cooperation. “I am positive that being members of the same family of the European centre-right parties we shall maintain a common vision in future as well”, says the Prime Minister in his letter.

Prime Minister Kubilius trusts that Lithuania, both during its preparation for the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2013, and during the Presidency period itself, will be able to count on the European Commission President’s support and advice while jointly working for the benefit of the united and efficient Europe.
