MEDIA ACCREDITATION OPENS FOR THE LITHUANIAN EU COUNCIL PRESIDENCY MEETINGS IN LITHUANIA

Media accreditation for meetings of the Lithuanian EU Council Presidency in Lithuania is open.

Media representatives must apply online by filling in the form in the accreditation system. Name, surname, document number, type of media represented, journalist card number have to be filled in and personal photo attached.

After submitting personal data, media representatives can select meetings of the Lithuanian EU Council Presidency in Lithuania they require accreditation for. Accreditation is granted for each meeting individually; a confirmation letter on the accreditation for a particular event is given by email.

Journalists will receive their accreditation cards at the venue of the event by presenting a valid ID with a photo.

Accreditation for European Council meetings in Brussels and Luxembourg is carried out according to the General Rules of the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union.

The Lithuanian EU Council Presidency will take place in the second half of 2013. Lithuania plans to hold over 200 meetings. The first high-level meeting which can be applied for via the media accreditation system is the European Commission visit in Lithuania taking place 5 July.
