MINISTER OF NATIONAL DEFENCE R. JUKNEVIČIENĖ WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE EU DEFENCE MINISTERS’ MEETING

Minister of National Defence Rasa Juknevičienė and her accompanying delegation on 22–23 September will participate in the informal meeting of European Union (EU) Defence Ministers in Wroclaw (Poland).
At the meeting Defence Ministers will discuss proposals regarding the EU operational planning capabilities’ strengthening, as well as possible actions to improve the efficiency of the EU Battle Groups and to encourage their use. In addition, the Defense Ministers will be briefed on situation in Libya, discuss further EU involvement in the operations in Africa, Bosnia and Herzegovina, cooperation strengthening possibilities with partners in the East.During the Defence Ministers’ meeting the traditional Nordic and Baltic states Defence Ministers\\' breakfast will be held, which will focus on the EU agenda and issues of regional cooperation.
EU Defence Ministers meet four times a year.
Minister-led delegation will return to Vilnius on Friday evening.
