Lithuania's 'A' rating reflects a credible policy framework supported by EU membership, a record of fiscal prudence before the pandemic and governance indicators that are above the median of 'A' category peers. Lithuania is a small and open economy, but the resilient export sector, and low private sector indebtedness should help mitigate negative repercussions from the war in Ukraine and high inflation.

Dr Gytis Dudas, a virus researcher at Vilnius University Life Sciences Centre (VU LSC), is one of two young scientists at VU LSC and one of 11 European scientists who received a grant from the European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO) to set up their own laboratory this year. Dr Dudas will set up his laboratory to carry out studies assessing the ability of surface proteins from several orthomyxoviridae, distant relatives of the influenza virus, to penetrate vertebrate cells.
Lithuanian rescuers return from Turkey: ‘our training was not in vain’ (LRT)
The rescue operation in Turkey was useful both for officers and for Lithuania, as a country, Gediminas Šukšta who led the Lithuanian international assistance team, told reporters after the team's return to Vilnius on Thursday night.
