Forecast: economic stagnation is almost over with emerging signs of recovery (Lithuania.lt)
As growth has finally resumed, household consumption and a high level of investment are reviving Lithuania’s economy which has stagnated for over two years. As the demand for Lithuanian goods and services picks up in export markets along with the easing of monetary policy, this year Lithuania’s economy is projected to grow by almost 2%, before accelerating to slightly over 3% next year.
Lithuania Joins the MICHELIN Guide Club: Starred Restaurants Announced (Lithuania.lt)
On the evening of 13th June in Vilnius, representatives of the MICHELIN Guide officially announced that Lithuania has joined the prestigious culinary ranks, with four of its restaurants being awarded one MICHELIN star each. The comprehensive list of Lithuanian eateries, meticulously compiled by anonymous MICHELIN Guide experts, includes 26 places recommended for their exceptional food and drink offerings.
Lithuania’s Defence Industry Poised for Takeoff (Lithuania.lt)
Lithuania’s defence industry is ready to contribute to European security. The ongoing Russia’s war in Ukraine has prompted the continent to strengthen its defence capabilities and ramp up military production, and Lithuania is keeping pace. The country’s defence sector might be young, but it has already seen both major international investment and locally-born success stories. Bolstered by a robust state support framework and a mature tech ecosystem, it is posting a 14% annual growth rate. And experts say there is plenty more potential to explore.
Lithuanians create solutions for DNA-based information storage technology (Lithuania.lt)
A new field of science – DNA data storage – is being developed in Lithuania. Genomika company together with Kaunas University of Technology and other partners, aims to develop an autonomous solution for archiving data in DNA structures. The total value of the project is more than EUR 5 million.
