Lithuania to cooperate with innovation leader MIT (EIMIN)

Lithuanian government, research institutions and business organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate and implement the MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI)  programme in Lithuania. This programme will strengthen Lithuania's image and visibility as a centre of innovation and technology, and promote cooperation between Lithuanian science and business with MIT.

Lithuania continues to shine as a global innovation leader, securing a spot among the top 35 countries in the Global Innovation Index (GII) for the second consecutive year. Despite significant economic and geopolitical challenges, Lithuania has met its National Progress Plan target of staying within the top 35 countries, ranking 35th this year, a slight dip from last year’s record 34th place among 132 countries.

Lithuania Ranked Among the World’s Leaders in E-Government Development (Lithuania.lt)

Lithuania has firmly established itself as one of the global frontrunners in e-government development, according to the latest 2024 United Nations (UN) E- Government Development Survey. The country has climbed three places, securing 21st position among 193 UN member states, placing it in the elite group of nations with very high e-government capabilities.
