PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE ON FOREIGN AFFAIRS ADOPTED A STATEMENT ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE EU EASTERN PARTNERSHIP INITIATIVE
On 16 December 2011, the Committee on Foreign Affairs adopted a Statement on the Implementation of the EU Eastern Partnership Initiative which underlined that the Eastern Partnership will be among the top priorities of the Lithuanian Presidency of the EU Council in the second half of 2013.
In the statement, the Committee also called for the offering of a European perspective to the Eastern partner countries and welcomed their progress in the negotiations on the Association Agreements, Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreements, and liberalisation of visa regime.
