Photo Impressions

An exhibition called „Photo Impressions“‘s taking place at the premises of the Permanent Representation until January 15th, 2008. Pictures in colour have been supplied by a photo artist from Druskininkai, Ginatars Žilys (born in 1942), who‘s also the Member of the Lithuanian Association of Photo Artists.

18 works brought Gintaras Žilys to Brussels. His ways of playing with colours and clear ideas about what is to be achieved have transformed classical photographs into abstract views of nature, stones, trees; flashes from everyday‘s live of the old Lithuanian countryside; portraits of simple things (doors, tubes, chairs) that are being viewed by the artist somehow diffrerently.

On 14 November last, the exhibition was inaugurated by the Permanent Representative of Lithuania to the EU Rytis Martikonis. Guests from the EU institutions as well Representation‘s officers sipped hot wine and let themselves willingly be taken by the photo artist.

You are invited to look at the works of Gintaras Žilys during the working days from 9:00 till 17:00!
