Statement about European case reflecting Georgia
What we are calling usually the "Georgian case" or "Georgian war", the Russia-Georgia war or "conflict", is only the inflammation gathering at this site and going up to surface as a symptom of much deeper problem.
EU has no way for itself still based on European identity and inherited system of values. Those, sometimes mentioned in our papers, are not shared by such "partner" country as Russia, not to speak about China and Iran. So, EU does share now the view that the values are not to be shared anymore, remaining some local cultural luxury while others keep on luxury of violence, coercion and constant breaches of any signed commitments.
Forthcoming Nice summit has to send a message. What one?
In a very predictable version the message of EU before and during the Nice will be that:
We, Europeans, are too weak to be treated seriously.
It is the message not for Russian leadership only, as they are aware about it, but also be sent to Iran, to all kinds of terrorist or state-terrorist organisations. To add more addresses, there will be African continent as a turbulent whole and big global players as China and USA.
– Don't look at us seriously, poniatno? Our firm stances and request to keep a word are valid only until Monday.
The message about spiritual and other weaknesses of Europe is formulated now by our European executives. What is the word of European parliamentarians? Do we agree and comply with someone's lack of dignity and basic instinct of giving up? That is not Georgian, not Russian, but European case. The European Parliament must have an urgent debate, starting without a delay.
