STATEMENT OF THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF LITHUANIA ON THE "ELECTIONS" IN CRIMEA

Responding to the reports about the “elections” held in Ukraine's Autonomous Republic of Crimea on 14 September, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry underlines that Lithuania supports Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence and the territorial integrity and considers organising such “elections” in Crimea to be yet another illegal action of the occupation authorities.

We do not recognise the constitutional nor legal grounds on the basis of which these “elections” were organised. At the same time we express our concern about the violations of human rights, which have become more frequent in the illegally annexed Ukraine's Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
