"THE PRESENT MEETS THE PAST" - CULTURAL EVENT AT THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT DEDICATED TO REMEMBER THE SOVIET MASS DEPORTATIONS FROM LITHUANIA
To Commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Soviet Mass Deportations from Lithuania we invite you to the commemorative cultural event at the European Parliament "THE PRESENT MEETS THE PAST" on the 21th of June 2011 at 6.00 p.m. Invitation
Program includes:
- Sscreening of the documentary film GRANDPA&GRANDMA by Giedrė Beinoriūtė, 2007, Video,28’
- Presentation of the book Diaries of Death, 2010 by Kęstutis Grigaliūnas
- Presentation of the MISSION Siberia 2010
- Inauguration of the exhibition on mass deportations "Under the Alien Skies: Lithuanian People in Soviet Hard Labour Camps and Exile in 1940–1958", prepared by the Museum of Genocide Victims, Lithuania
Welcomings will be adressed by Mr. Jerzy Buzek, President of the European Parliament, Mr Vytautas Landsbergis, MEP, and Mr Algirdas Saudargas.
The event will be followed by a reception, offered by the Permanent Representation of Lithuania to the European Union.
