THE PRINCE OF MONACO TO VISIT LITHUANIA FOR THE FIRST TIME

Friday, October 12, Vilnius - President Dalia Grybauskaitė will meet with Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco who are coming for an official visit to Lithuania.

This is the first visit by the royal leader of Monaco to our country. Lithuania established diplomatic relations with Monaco only in April last year.

The meeting will focus on bilateral relations and cooperation in international organizations. Lithuania's Presidency of the European Union in 2013 and the EU-Monaco relations will be among key topics of discussion.

The leaders of the two countries will address the economic situation in Europe and the euro zone's problems. According to the President, Monaco, bordering with France, is closely related to the European Union. This country has already adopted the euro, is part of the Customs Union and Schengen area, therefore the ongoing political and economic processes within the EU have great impact on Monaco.
