Monday, August 11, Vilnius – Late Monday night President of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus received a phone call from U.S. President George W. Bush on his way back from Beijing to Washington.
The two presidents talked about the threatening situation in Georgia. Lithuania’s President informed U.S. President of the planned visit by Lithuanian, Polish, Ukrainian and Estonian presidents and Latvian prime minister to Tbilisi.
U.S. President welcomed the determination of the leaders of the Baltic countries to go to Georgia to support the Georgian nation and its democratically elected government.
