WWW.ALFA.LT: Lithuania is among the most stable and promising world countries and it is in one of the highest positions among the new EU member states, and highest among the Baltic States, the Prime Minister’s press office reports. Such results were published in the annual report The Failed States Index 2010 which ranked 177 countries.
The study was looking at states stability and prospects, and Lithuania was ranked in a very high 145 place. The report ranked 177 countries according to 12 social, economic, political and military indicators. According to the press releases Lithuania is not far behind of the Nordic countries were Norway came to 177 place, Finland in 176 position and Sweden was in 175. Great Britain was in 161 place, France was ranked 159, Germany in 157 position and the U.S.A. was ranked as 158.
In Failed States Index 2010 index Lithuania outpaced the new EU member states of Slovakia 143 place, Poland 142, Hungary 141, Estonia 140, Latvia 136, Romania 128, and Bulgaria 126.
